Morning In The Cave Of Blue Stones-Speed Painting

This is my first attempt to sketch a concept art of a fantasy cave with blue stones. I used basic GIMP brushes with default GIMP brush pressures. Such as "Pressure Opacity" and "Perspective".

This is a highly experimental piece with not much details as it was just to understand the limitation of GIMP and it seems GIMP has a huge potential to discover. Once user is used to this software I think a lot of great results can be achieved with it.

I do think I should have worked little more on the stones. Also I thought of not including the stones in the image, but I ended up adding them.

How to create an awesome sci-fi planet scene digital art with a sun in Gimp ~Gimp 2.8 basic tutorial

GIMP or GNU Image Manipulation Program is a free software for editing photographs, creating different digital art and even drawing. It is a very powerful software that we can use for free. Some even consider it as alternative of Photoshop. Though it is not as powerful as PS but it is in itself a very good software to begin digital art and image editing.
In this youtube video tutorial on gimp, I am going to show how to create a wonderful science fiction art or a sci-fi art with few tools in gimp. It is gimp tutorial for begginer to intermediate learnners. One MUST know basic operation of GIMP to understand the tutorial.
In this tutorial, I will show how to create a fantasy, sci-fi planet with a sun or start around which it rotates. Along with the planet I will add some atmosphere to create a dramatic effect on the entire image. This image is based in outer space so I consider it a sci-fi scene tutorial.
The speciality of this tutorial is that I will show how to draw in GIMP with a mouse using cool GIMP tricks,tools, and effects.

Valentines Day Special Speed Painting - My Heart

This is my first attempt on painting with a tablet on GIMP.

I swear I didn't wanna make the image this much creepy. XD

But yes, I wanted to keep some eeriness in the atmosphere and on her face. It is an image of love with full of eeriness XD

I used basic GIMP brushes. Nothing fancy. But will try out different custom brushes as well as some photoshop brushes. Using GIMP for painting for the first time is really different from other softwares like photoshop and paint tool SAI. But like each graphic software has their own plus....GIMP has too.... We just need to give more time and effort to understand this software which is quite powerful in itself and most importantly free.
